About Leather

Only top grade genuine leathers are used in VOOC’s products. It is worth mentioning that natural leather is one of nobler materials, from which beautiful and durable products are made. Every leather product is one of its kind, because leather, being a material of animal origin, does not have a unified, machine-like structure.

All marks from abrasion, stains or fading, only prove its authenticity. Some of them are minimized in tanneries, but sometimes getting rid of them cannot be achieved. Thus, they are not a fault of the product, but rather a confirmation of its origin and are not covered by warranty.

Leathers in VOOC products

CRAZY HORSE – this is a thick leather, which is used in tough trekking boots. Both flexible and strong, thanks to which all kinds of creases, stretching, abrasion or decolourisation do not make it lose any of its qualities. Crazy Horse is a top-grain oiled leather. While tanning it is soaked in hot oils, which gives it its durability.

RUSSIA LEATHER (JUCHT) - Russia Leather belongs to the most expensive and noblest of leathers. Not painted, with a natural colour of sand. It is compared to bare timber – with time, the colour becomes warmer, then honey-like and eventually the colour changes into caramel. It ages slowly and often it serves several generations, due to its durability.

OLD LOOK – natural leather submitted to special treatments of artificial aging. Some types of leather OLD LOOK method may leave a slight discoloration on clothing, especially in areas exposed to perspiration.

ITALIAN LEATHER - the most exclusive accessories distinguished by a great presence are made from italian leather. Tannins of vegetable origin with small amounts of light varnishes are used in its production. As a result of this process, leather becomes incredibly soft, smooth, and shines slightly.

NUBUCK – it is prepared by grinding the surface of the skin usually from the side of the face (on top of the skin). It is characterized by short hair and is quite resistant to staining and moisture. It feels a peach to the touch. These are absorbent leathers, with excellent hygienic properties. They sort of ‘breathe’, to put it colloquially.

User guide

Leather products should be protected from heat, direct sunlight and soaking. Leahter is not resistant to perspiration, which can cause discoloration on the product. Be aware of the vulnerability of natural leather products for all kinds of dirt, grease, impossible or very difficult to remove. For cleaning, do not use strong cleaning agents, but only special agents designed for leather preservation. Products (mostly in darker colors) may leave a slight discoloration on clothing, especially in areas exposed to perspiration. Products made of suede, may leave little nap on clothing. This is due to the natural characteristics of suede, which tends to dry out and abrade during use.
